I'm trying to figure out how to ask a question here. The following sequence of events have been found in the news. 1) IBEW is reporting a pass of the BNSF contract by mail-in ballot. Less than one week later a large number of workers are reporting a set of ballot irregularities. Internal polling suggests the contract has only 25% support rate.
At the same time, a splinter group has formed, passed a contradictory resolution at 96%. The only thing I haven't been able to determine is whether or not this represents an absolute majority of workers or not.
So I'm trying to form up a question. Here I'm wondering if the splinter group can make a claim stick of being the actual employees union for the employees that have joined it or not.
