9:31 AM
@Snow and is automatically disqualified from the showjumping competition

9:48 AM
@motosubatsu Good morning, hope all is well with you.

3 hours later…
12:23 PM
@Lilienthal Thanks, Lilienthal, this was really helpful. And the reasons are logical, if there's no vetting systems then I can understand why HR or hiring staff would disregard them

1:03 PM
@Snow Welcome.....we missed you....

Its almost like old times, almost. We are missing a flaming duck, but we do have a dog that has more SE swag than I do. ;-)

Good morning. Weird to be back. Seems quiet here.

I don't get in here too much these days.

Seems quiet on the main site as well.

@Snow Meta?

TWP. I have more rep on MSE than I do on TWP.

1:08 PM
LOL
gotcha
At any rate, good to see you once again, back to work I go!
@motosubatsu -- I miss the flaming duck

1:29 PM
Pinged.

1:56 PM
@MisterPositive the masked duck felt more on-message these days
@Snow I'm good thanks.. a bit lockdown-crazy but surviving

Yeah. I'm kinda tired of the dining room table now.
The 32" 4K monitor does help though. I'll miss this when I'm back in the office again.

Neo
2:13 PM
we are remote until at least May 2021

2:25 PM
I've been in the office the entire time, barring a short period of WFH after a COVID scare for my gf

Neo
2:40 PM
@motosubatsu In the office....wow

Neo
2:52 PM
@motosubatsu how is your GF? Did she have it and recover, or just a brief bit of panic?

@Neo yeah.. we have to sanitise ourselves and our desks multiple times a day etc. She's fine thanks - she was unwell for a few days but returned a negative test and we think it was likely flu rather than COVID.

That's good to know. COVID is such a gamble, sometimes it's mild, sometimes it's vicious.

@Snow And the weird part is you really have no idea who it will affect badly. Young can be crushed by it just as well as the elderly. Although here in the US, mainly whacking the elderly or those with other conditions.

2 hours later…
4:42 PM
Back to "Neo"?

Neo
5:15 PM
@Snow Yep, in celebration of your return ;-}

2 hours later…
7:02 PM
@jserv It's the same reason reference letters aren't really a thing anymore (outside certain sectors like academia or Germany IIRC). It's a document that can only be positive because the candidate will see it. That's why potential employers ask to talk to your references because they want to judge tone and ask about weaknesses as well.
@Snow Thought it was just someone who wandered in with the same name but glad to see you're back Snow. :) Hope you've been well?

7:31 PM
I wish I'd judged that about reference letters, as well

8:00 PM
@Lilienthal - was hoping people would remember the name and avatar. Interesting to be back. I’m doing well though. Hope things are well with yourself.

Certainly can't complain. We're all living in interesting times. :)
