this is not about navigating in the workplace. Are there studies about gender distribution in IT, per country/culture‭ - hitchhiker‭ 2019-12-05 06:47:20Z

@RichardSaysReinstateMonica You're not paranoid if they really are out to get you ^^

@RichardSaysReinstateMonica "2)Discuss with a lawyer BEFORE taking action" This is bang on. I have no opinion (that I'll talk about here) on the other stuff, but you are exactly right with this.
Also, did I miss a change to the @Notify stuff in comments on the main site? I just wrote one, and the user notification part wasn't there when I posted it, and when I looked, my name wasn't flagged anymore in the comment I was replying to either

@PlayerOne I've had that happen to me as well. Very strange.

Yea, usually they announce that stuff. Not a drama as far as I'm concerned (especially since this is a service I don't pay anything for), but I'm interested to find out what's going on there

Are we being Poed by this one?

Q: How to take my pads with me to the toilet subtly?

JennaHow to take my pads with me to the toilet subtly? I work in an all male office/open space and everytime I get my period I go through the awkwardness of trying to take them out of my bag and put them in my pocket an go to the toilet. I can't really take my whole bag, nor can I carry all the pads ...

Bee
Why?
I think it's a very valid question and don't agree with the comments about it being out of the scope of the workplace SE

3:08 PM
@Bee that's the whole point of a Poe. You can't, at first blush, guess if it's real or not.

Bee
Ah - I thought you meant: AdjectiveEdit. poed (comparative more poed, superlative most poed). Pissed off; angry; upset, etc. He was poed by her indifference.

3:35 PM
@RichardSaysReinstateMonica it's not completely impossible I suppose, but I don't think it very likely. It's a reasonable, on-topic question, seems to be written reasonably and the OP seemed genuine in their responses to comments.

@Bee I never know, but then again, so much about humanity confuses the heck out of me anyway. Take racism, for example. We are all so nearly identical from a genetic standpoint, that there isn't even enough variance to say we have any sub-species, much less a different species of human, yet people hate each other for purely cosmetic reasons.
I will never understand that

3:51 PM
I have no evidence beyond the repeated use of "I" in every sentence, (and yes, I'm well aware of the borderline hypocrisy there), but I'm pretty sure that's the same person who posted this one: workplace.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/6461/…

@PlayerOne I suspected the same thing, actually

@PlayerOne feels like something of a stretch, subjectively they don't read that similar in style.

Bee
I think its still a good question though, even if it is the same person, it's not saying "can I use sanitary products at work" it's asking for advise how to use them discretely

That particular poster is active elsewhere on the network, including some pretty erm, controversial rubbish over on Law SE - they don't seem one to sockpuppet after one negatively received

@motosubatsu I'm not sure, they're both heavy on short sentances involving "I", their first question got deleted, so they changed the tone, but the writing style looks similar to me.

3:56 PM
even if it is them I still say where's the harm? The question as posted is still reasonable, on topic and if the poster you reference had shown a similar approach to their question (or even edited to make it not sound like it was written like an 8 year old) that too would have been reasonable.

Kaz
@Bee Agreed. Regardless of whether the OP is real, it seems like a perfectly valid question applicable to a lot of people in a lot of workplaces and one where helpful advice can be offered.

I Know that's super circumstantial, so I haven't voted, but that's my suspicion
@motosubatsu yea that's fair

4:34 PM
I was just speculating a bit. But, I agree that the best way to approach any question is to take it a if it sincere, even if you think it may not be.

dwizumResigned after working at company for 2 months. A year later, I would like to apply for a different position at that same company. Is it worth trying? Still need one more reopen vote for workplace.stackexchange.com/questions/149065/…

I'm wondering if that one user has found an answer he hasn't voted to close.....
