Q: Reopen "I am being used as a communication tool..."

David KThe question I am being used as a communication tool between 2 project teams who refuse to help each other out was closed for being a rant without a question. It's true that there was no actual question statement, but I think the scenario makes a good topic here, so I added a one-line question at...

@Magisch You see, some people want to kick out all immigrants from USA. This is rather jarring given that the people supporting this are mostly people who descended from immigrants just a couple of centuries ago. And unlike the immigrants of that time, the current day immigrants do not go eliminating entire native populations (read native American Indians).
But hey, since when have people bothered with logic? We are talking about a people who called out Trump for his "I will accept the election results only if I win" statement. Couple of weeks later, boot is on the other foot, and the same people are found with "Not my President" placards, creating nuisance in public, and what not.

Most people seem to forget that the US was, originally, a confederation of different countries. When you think of the US as being much more like the EU, suddenly the notion of "States Rights" makes much more sense.
Worth noting that, in terms of size, population and economy, the USA and EU are pretty much equal.

Q: Are facility management questions on topic?

LilienthalAs I see it, facility management in the context of a workplace concerns itself with creating, operating and maintaining commercial environments and infrastructure. In an office context I believe the term "building management" is largely synonymous. So are questions about this topic considered s...

@Kaz exactly, and there are some fairly significant cultural differences between the states, and even within some of the larger states.

@MaskedMan I would say that "not accepting the results" and verifying the vote count are significantly different situations.

Additionally, the candidate not accepting the results is different from dissenters protesting the accepted results.

Just trying to look at things objectively here.

@DoritoStyle To be objective, we need to ask why only the states Trump won by a narrow margin are being recounted while the states Clinton won by an even tighter margin are not.

MaskedMan is correct in his analysis.

I would say it's because nobody is funding a recount effort in those states because there is no incentive for Republicans to do so. That seems pretty simple.
And since the Democrats won the popular vote, their only goal is to try and get more electoral college votes.
I think MaskedMan has just conflated couple of different points here, that's all (as pointed out above).

10:02 PM
@DoritoStyle The popular vote is irrelevant as we have the electoral college by design to limit the effects of shenanigans like this. As for no incentive, you are correct. There is no incentive for someone who won the election DESPITE the fact that McAuliffe did an end run around his own legislature to allow criminals to vote, that illegals were allowed to vote, and that Philadelphia turned out it's usual 128% in some districts, to attempt to cheat

"The popular vote is irrelevant" not really my point here, so I agree
Your other claims could use some sourcing though, as far as I've seen there hasn't been much evidence floating around for those theories.
That still doesn't address my first statements above about conflation, I'll be happy to wait for MaskedMan's responce though

@DoritoStyle Try the Pew research center if you like. argumentum ad ignorantiam is fallacious logic

Got any links?
Also, argument from ignorance? Not my intent at all.
I'm not asking for contrary evidence, I'm just asking for a primary source here. Not intended as an attack.
Side question: Can 'Argument from Ignorance' even apply to my position here? I haven't made a claim so I don't think you can say I'm appealing to ignorance by asking for a source where none was provided?
