@Lilienthal It is the result of SE's feature of allowing use as "unregistered" users, and happens quite often on SE. Although it is a bit unintuitive for new users, I still prefer this design choice, as against Quora, where you cannot read anything without creating an account, and you cannot create an account without Quora puking in your face for a while.
I think Quora even mentions somewhere that to read the content there, you are also "expected" to contribute, whereas SE explicitly says that if you just want to learn here without contributing anything, we are totally fine with it. Two completely opposite philosophies, and also one of the many reason why I hate Quora.
