hi @JourneymanGeek, join the club

Here's an interesting site:
Icy: The open source community software for bio-imaging
Journeyman Geek
@IvoFlipse: Turns out the coursera courses are startable at any time.
Which is nice. Also means i can work through them as and when i have breaks ;p
Ivo Flipse
@JourneymanGeek Yes, but the point is they don't start until september :P
Also, most Coursera (at least at this point in time) are often only ran once. So if you miss the final or any deadline, you're out of luck for the certificate
Journeyman Geek
lol. no no. Means i can start on it once this MADNESS ends
oh, not as i understand it.
Ivo Flipse
Udacity runs every ~8 weeks, which also has the advantage that errors are much less likely now that CS101 is in its 3rd iteration
Journeyman Geek
ahh
wierd
udacity.com/wiki/FAQ#how-long-does-a-udacity-course-last
<- that indicates i can take it whenever i want ;p
except for courses that are on first run
as does this
udacity.com/courses

@JourneymanGeek Yeah, but Udacity != Coursera
Journeyman Geek
oh
You DID recommend the Udacity CS101 right? ;p
...
BRAINFART
please replace the reference to coursera i made about courses being startable at any time with udacity ;p
this of course, means that i can actually start on the udacity cs101 once i'm out of the mad rush zone ;p
is in a break on law class in school. damned subject makes my brain hurt
Ivo Flipse
@JourneymanGeek Yes, you should do CS101 on Udacity, you probably won't have to bother with the Coursera course then
But I can't tell yet, because those haven't started yet
Journeyman Geek
Well, maybe.
Ivo Flipse
@JourneymanGeek Law class eh?
Luckily you can drop out if you don't like it, no strings attached
Journeyman Geek
ya. I
do
have a bloody wierd pair of majors.
Computer forensics and IT management and management
(Yes, thats two subjects)
This term is the two most evil modules in the course to boot.
(computer forensics analysis, which no one, even the lecturer seems very sure about... which is good and bad, and workplace law)
Ivo Flipse
12:25
Sucks to be you ;)
Journeyman Geek
I just need the degree ;p
Ivo Flipse
How much do you have left?
Journeyman Geek
about half
3rd term of 6
