@dot_Sp0T Did it crack open on you?
Checked my mailbox this morning and the package hasn't arrived yet.

3:01 PM
@Green Yeah you may as well dip a stick of butter in funnel cake batter, deep fry it and then roll it around in powdered sugar.

@James Nah, that'd be healthier.

4:50 PM
@Green nope

5:07 PM
@Green is this a common thing? I mean the cake cracking?
Just read up on it, I do not understand how my cake did not crack unless it was backed for too little time
but it seems to be well done and tastes similar to the first cheese cake I ever had
so must ahve worked

5:30 PM
@dot_Sp0T very common problem.
@James isn't that already a thing in the US South?
@dot_Sp0T beautiful cake!

6:21 PM
@dot_Sp0T I think the cracking might have to do with the cake sticking to the sides of the pan as it expands, and so it expands more in the middle than the sides. If the pan was well greased, or maybe that crust on the sides, then the cheesecake part wouldn't have an opportunity to stick.

7:03 PM
@AndyD273 idk about your american baking utensils, but our springform pans are amazing quality

@dot_Sp0T Having the right tools does help. I do need to get one of those sometime. I baked a Japanese cotton cheesecake the other day, and got around the cracking problem by putting parchment paper on the edges.

@AndyD273 parchment paper is great for these things. I usually use it for chocolate gateaus

7:49 PM
@Green also thank you, and it's not that difficult, just put jam through the blender, add creme fraiche to top, add jam use fork

@Green I am pretty sure some midwest state fairs do it. I once had a battered/deep fried/sugar rolled snickers one time. Felt like my heart was going to explode.
@dot_Sp0T ...I want to eat that

@James Also not surprising.
@James And Americans wonder why they're so fat.
(Yes, yes, I'm fat shaming my own country.)

@Green Which reminds me I need to get signed up at the gym by my new work still..
@Green Yeah its not hard to do.

@James heh :)

8:05 PM
big turkey day plans?

@James Hang out with new friends all day Thursday. Eat too much, get fat (so I can fat shame myself). That's about it.
what about you?

8:43 PM
@Green We're hosting my inlaws. So, it'll be fun and crowded and I will travel back and forth between the table and the couch via rolling across the floor most of the day.
