hi all. I was wondering, are questions about Shannon's coding theorem and such on-topic here? Or would they be better suited for stats.SE?

@glS its hard even for experts to forecast how questions will "fly" on SE (and also sometimes overthinking it) but a way to look at more fine-grained relevance is to examine tag history. theres no shannon tag but there is an entropy with 71 instances and 19 from this year.

@vzn eh, I guess you are right. I'll just ask and see how it goes. I'm just always unsure as to where to ask coding theory/information theory questions
