I just got a message saying that I made -2 rep from cs.stackexchange.com/questions/86699/…
However, the link leads to 404. And I don't recognize what it is. And my rep still appears to be at 1288, which my profile shows that it's been at for months now, rather than, I guess, the 1286 I'd have if I actually took a "-2"-hit.
My best guess is that a post that I made a suggested edit on got deleted, canceling out the +2 I would've gotten from the suggested edit being accepted. But then why isn't my rep reflecting the reported hit?
Huh, weirder, my CS.Meta profile claims that my rep is 1290. So I'd guess that I actually had 1290 and the -2 brought me to 1288; but, if that's the case, why does my rep history show 1288 for the past few months?
Ah wells. Random weird bug that's probably just lag or something confused me. xD

@Nat Good theory! Yup, I can see some signs that are consistent with your theory: you made a suggested edit on the question long ago; it got approved (presumably you got +2 rep on that?); since then, the question has been automatically deleted (cs.stackexchange.com/help/roomba; score of 0, no answers, no comments, very old). Maybe you lost 2 rep at that point.
I don't know why your rep on CS.SE and Meta.CS.SE are different. My only hypothesis for that: shouldiblamecaching.com

@D.W. While blaming caching is often a safe bet, there might be more going on here. In any case, this is a know bug.

Q: Meta sites in "Your Communities" display different reputation

DarkCygnusWhile using the top bar to navigate across communities, I noticed that the reputation displayed on meta sites on that list does not match the one of their corresponding main sites: I have noticed on past situations that reputation gained takes a bit to "update" on the display on Meta sites (th...
