Hello.

6 hours later…
12:33
@Mithoron Are you there?
12:53
@user103816 I'm here now.

2 hours later…
15:00
@Mithoron I don't know the concept of Enthalpy and Entorpy. Could you explain in simple language? E.g. could you explain the example of NaCl?
15:30
@user103816 Well, I you'd have unbound Na+ and Cl- and they attracted each other, they would collide and get bound - if energy of collision wouldn't be greater than strength of the bond, the bond wouldn't break and energy surplus could be radiated or stored in oscillation.
Creating bond would lower entalpy and radiating energy surplus increase entropy.
I see your molecule @inɒzɘmɒЯ.A.M, what do you think?
I just came in, lemme see what this is about.
@Mithoron I have no idea how I can explain it better than this.
Not sure I really know - or even if OP knows...
@Mithoron He's basically saying why should decrease in potential energy mean more stability?
Then you say 'cause entropy.
Then they say why.
But sometimes, you can't just add why to everything.
Yeah, it seems he missed entropy - didn't get that molecule could radiate energy; also entalpy of the bond.
It can also get to very simplistic views.
Energy shakes stuff. Too much energy = too much shaking, so you shake enough, you can even break molecules @user.
