@Hosch250 SOC 1 Type I right now, working on the SOC 1 Type II.
Hosch250
@202_accepted K.
202_accepted
We'll be doing SOC 2 next year probably.
Hosch250
@202_accepted Have fun.
202_accepted
I'm not looking forward to it. Apart from not being a CPA, I am now a SOC 1 and 2 certified auditor. >.<
Hosch250
@202_accepted Now or not?
202_accepted
7:41 PM
I would be a SOC 1 / 2 certified auditor if I were a CPA.

Which is which?
It's not making sense to me.
202_accepted
I am not a CPA, so I cannot be a SOC 1 / 2 auditor, but if I were I would meet the remaining criteria.
Hosch250
Oh.
Oh, I get it now.
202_accepted
So, apart from my lack of a CPA credential, I
am
a SOC 1 / 2 auditor. ;)
Hosch250
Well, get your CPA.

Too much work, not enough reward. I want to get a notary license first. :)
Hosch250
Get all the licenses, like Daffy Duck.
Vogel612
wait you can just get a license for that in the US?
202_accepted
To be a notary? It's a short class and then a test, then yes.
Hosch250
Remember how he had 7 licenses? Driver's, cosmotology, hunting, and a few others.

@Vogel612 Depends on the state, though.

in Germany (or at least in my state) you need to have been a lawyer for at least 20
years
before you can
try
to get a notary officiation
202_accepted
In my county there's a test, in the county I grew up in it's a fee.
Hosch250
@Vogel612 Meh, it's just an official witness, IIUC
202_accepted
@Hosch250 It's
barely
more than that, but yes.

Basically, someone who the courts can call on to verify that they indeed stamp something.
We have a couple neighbors who are notaries.
Vogel612
@Hosch250 in Germany they also are the keeper of the original documents
everybody else just has a copy
Hosch250
@Vogel612 Over here, you stick those in a safe deposit box at the bank.
202_accepted
@Vogel612 Not here, most of the time. In the U.S., the notary only signifies that they witnessed all parties sign and officiate the document.
Vogel612
and copies are not accepted before a court of law
Hosch250
Usually the lawyer (if any) keeps a copy and both parties keep a copy.
