Following the "nightly build" policy, is "snapshot build" acceptable? android.stackexchange.com/questions/77831/…

Got my first tag badge on here... it tasted like a Lollipop.

@AndrewT. I would say yes, as long as the build is for CM11-CM13. See wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/…
@AndrewT. And you're the first to get the badge for that tag :)

@Firelord Thanks. Perhaps 's excerpt and wiki can improved... especially the excerpt, to let them know about "nightly build" policy.

Q: Phone rings on vibrate

jboris24My phone is an HTC one m8 running marshmallow. I have noticed since upgrading to marshmallow, that when my phone is on vibrate and I get a call it takes it off vibrate and rings. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Any idea?

No idea, I thought it's a bug on M8 on Marshmallow, but I didn't find anything about it.

@AndrewT. Congrats.

@beeshyams thanks!

Wow, over 50% unanswered in and 67% unanswered in

@AndrewT. I'm wondering why did you link to large but not to the original version of the image here?

@Firelord edit conflict, forgot to restore manually. Will fix ASAP.

@MatthewRead Yeah, Lollipop has bad statistics. Took over a year to pass Kitkat as most used Android version – and that with two versions taken together (5.0+5.1). So what do you expect? #D

Lollipop... Yureka... ugh, my head

7:50 AM
@AndrewT. LOL, I po… oops. Spelling error #D

@MatthewRead sorry for all the flags. I promise, when elected, I will deal with this myself :)
Btw: We've got an anonymous user doing a lot of "unhelpful" edits, turning all kind of things into HTML entities (which sometimes breaks formatting). Is there any way to stop him? Example here (trivial); another answer would have be slightly "defaced" (converting all to isn't what I'd call an improvement).
Of course I've rejected all those edits ;)

I think it was scripted. Perhaps an attempt to try new spam approach. However, I don't know if anonymous editor can get banned or not.

Q: Is there a way to prevent access to recovery or prevent access to fastboot?

SkemoI have couple of Motorola phones and some samsung tablets.. I have installed Cyanogen Mod in all of them except 1 Motorla G 2015. Moto G doesnt have bootloader unlocked so its safe... I want to prevent unathourized access to TWRP recovery/ fastboot is it possible?

Would I be right in thinking that flashing TWRP and then locking the bootloader would prevent TWRP booting but allow the main image to boot?

10:39 AM
@DanHulme I don't see why locking the bootloader would prevent TWRP from loading... I think it would just prevent flashing a new recovery. That's if it's possible to re-lock the bootloader without the stock recovery?
I could be wrong though, i don't have any evidence either way

10:55 AM
@DanHulme You've not given us details. 1) If you flashed TWRP from fastboot, locked the bootloader but did not boot straight into recovery mode, your recovery would and should be replaced by stock recovery during boot. 2) If you flashed TWRP, locked bootloader, booted straight into recovery mode and patched system partition (as offered by TWRP), TWRP would survive all reboots. I'm speaking from my brief experiments on Nexus 6.

@Firelord either way, that doesn't sound like it would do what the OP wants
never mind, it was just an idea

@Izzy Looks like someone trying to find an XSS exploit or something. In any case, their IP was blocked automatically due to their edits being rejected
@AndrewT. They can :)

7:27 PM
@MatthewRead Ah! Thanks for that detail. Wasn't aware of that mechanism.
