hi everyone, I'm having a major issue with my phone after attempting a hard reset from the bootloader. Anybody here know anything about the asus zenfone 2? If not, is there a better place I can ask?
@beeshyams Same here. Really confusing. I only found out by running aapt d badging against the APK manually (what the end-user cannot do, not having the APK). At least it's clear: when grayed out, there's nothing to install.
@badge-be It probably rather was a factory-reset ("hard reset" is simply cutting-off power by e.g. removing the battery ;) I don't know the device, but you didn't tell what the issue is either. There were several questions already on issues after a factory-reset, yours might be among them.
@DanHulme I use Pocket to exchange links between devices. Wallabag would be another alternative (in short: Read-it-later services). There are also tools for "clipboard sharing", if that's closer to what you want.
I know I can disable app notifications easily with an app like Notifications Off but it doesn't seem to disable the system ones. And I don't just want certain ones gone, and not just from the lock screen. I'd like to disable these incredibly annoying notifications completely and permanently.
Ser...
@Firelord because clicking a few buttons in an app doesn't tell you what subtle bugs it might have, like running down the battery or opening security holes
@DanHulme Alright. Why not try with multiROM combined with restriction on storage access, such as with XPrivacy? That should give enough space to find bugs, subtle they may be.
I feel like we should talk to this benjaminS chap who keeps flagging posts and commenting to say he's done it. It's good to have someone new flagging, but I worry that his comments are confusing, and they duplicate the ones that come from the review when the flag is handled.
I would like to post a question about an Android camera library, and get some recommendations. Is "Android Enthusiasts" a good place to post such a question? If not, where is the right place ?
@RanyAlbegWein What kind of question do you want to ask, and what kind of recommendations you're after?
Are you looking for a library with features A,B,C to include in your app – or are you using a library and got stuck with its API (so is it a request for a library, or on how to use that library)?
@RanyAlbegWein Then please check Where to ask for app recommendations? Applies to libraries, too. Strict rules at SR, which is why I linked to the details on those instead of directly to the site :)
(disclosure: I'm a mod at SR, so I will put your question on hold if you don't stick to the rules #D)
Btw: Thanks for checking with us before posting! We highly appreciate that (and I'm sure I can say so in the name of all present in this room at the moment). Thumbs up!

I found this link on android central which basically explains the same thing that wayback mentioned as well with more details and comparisons with iOS and Windows Phone.I found this very informative so I though that it w...
@izzy: Figure this 1. Tweetin grayed out today, was accessible till yesterday 2.see new apps (but no mention from you of adding them)- only your repo enabled
@beeshyams 1. was grayed out for me as well, from the start. 2. I cannot write a message every time :) But again 2. I've adjusted the timestamps on the APK files (zip -o) so I can pick the "build time" – which caused F-Droid to declare all apps as new (didn't know that before).
See, those are good reasons for declaring the repo still "experimental". Tweetin is LP+ (so again, grayed out for not having a compatible APK for you). Why those apps are shown at all (despite "showing incompatible apps" turned off) must rather be an issue of the client (F-Droid app) not applying that on 3rd party repos.
@Izzy thanks-mostly fits barring Tweetin which was fine till yesterday- my interest is more on checking out interesting apps and in the process letting you know what I see :)
A rollback auto-rejected this edit. However, there is no way to know what caused the rejection just by looking at the review. Not helpful, I would say.
Hmm, so, an hour or so ago, I edited an answer which began with you all are, you know what kind of holes! It then recommended an app as a way to address the need of the question. I checked the app in Play Store and one of the features did seem to address the question. So I edited the answer and removed the expletive. Given that the answer has been deleted now (I'm sure it is not done automatically by Community user), I'm wondering, should I've done that edit?
I believe that some users would've flagged it as abusive or reviewed it as VLQ and my edit definitely would've flushed the flags meant for the first revision. What a pain!

I converted it to a comment because there was no link or real explanation
