Considering this phone is years past warranty, this might be a good time to flash my first alternate rom..hm..

Well that was awkward. Had to find another tool. This one claimed it failed, and appears to have succeeded.

@Izzy I accepted your flag on a certain recent answer. You're right that we don't delete answers based on their correctness ... and also perfectly right that that was a massive exception. It was so wrong I don't think it should be considered an answer :P

I am now the proud owner of a working CyanogenModded phone :D
