I have tried a couple of foods these days. I just want to have some suggestion so that I don't need to keep trying. I cannot understand the language here, and just bought any food whose package has pictures which look good to eat.

some food is the combination of many different foods and I don't really know what it is.

To others, the url I just passed to Captain is about many Taiwan students(undergrad, masters and PhD) who study oversea may have option to go back to Taiwan to study in Taiwan schools. The government announced this news because there are many students stuck in oversea because of pandemic and Taiwan is one of the countries which is not impacted by Covid (<700 caeses, 23 million population)

I hate Taipei, hoping to leave there even since teenage.

so when I chose universities, I chose those outside Taipei City, which is a concrete jungle where everything is exorbitant.

@CaptainBohemian It's an option for you to think about. Not every school is in Taipei.

I know Taiwan does not has big research groups working on fundamental sciences.

also, that link doesn't say if there are scholarships for these students the universities will admit. A big factor which attract students to apply for a research program is scholarships.

@CaptainBohemian I don't know what you study and no idea what those schools offer. You may want to ask them if you are interested. I just thought this is an option for you as a shelter for a year or so until the Covid storm passes. I don't know where you are now, but I do think Taiwan is a safe place for now.

I know Taiwan has very few Covid-19 cases, but there are not many funds for fundamental science research there.

I know a Mongolian got a full scholarship to study in an undergraduate program in Japan.

@CaptainBohemian: All comments I see from you seem to suggest that at your place, the other people are incompatible to you, the food is bad for you, you are always hungry etc. Would it be different at home/in some other place?

@CaptainBohemian If you want to come back home, you'll need to do it quick. From what I heard, you'll need negative test result certified before you get on plane, effective December 1. There may be exceptions. Check with the Taiwan office in the country you stay. I believe it's because too many cases around the world.

@user111388 People in my faculty are good to me, but I haven't had a lot of chances to talk with them face-to-face and know them because all works are conducted on line.

These bad people are only dormitory (mainland Chinese) people which are irrelevant to to my study.

@scaaahu I refer Taiwan to be a wasteland in my conversation with an Egyptian in Australia. That Egyptian also talks like Egypt is a wasteland and he is trying his best to stay in Australia.

@scaaahu I forget to tell you I checked not long ago that going to Taiwan needs to be very wealthy now because one needs to have not only money for flight ticket but also the hotel fee for at least 14 days and the Covid-19 test fee.

these expenses are so wasteful.

@CaptainBohemian Yes, I know about the 14 days hotel and Covid-19 test fee. Actually, I heard the airline ticket is expensive from Europe to Taiwan. It's up to you. My only advice is this, being alive and healthy is more important than anything else. I need to go. Talk to you later.

I originally said to the police to come back when the court opens, but since the expense is so high and Taiwan is so desolate, I don't feel motivation.
