I guess it's only tangential here - since the question is more than 60 days old - but since it was mentioned in another chat room, I'll ask here in chat whether a question like this would be suitable for Academia: What's a mathematician to do?
@quid Either it should be moved to Academia or it should stay and be open. Frankly it's mathematical enough for here IMO. "MathOverflow is a question and answer site for professional mathematicians." Not "for professional mathematics".
I have to apologize because this is not the normal sort of question for this site, but there have been times in the past where MO was remarkably helpful and kind to undergrads with similar types of question and since it is worrying me increasingly as of late I feel that I must ask it.
