@M.A.R. I listen to people trashing Bennie
I follow a podcast where in a recent episode they talked about Ben Shapiro's argument for voter suppression laws
"Come on Shapiro is not that stupid. He graduated from Harvard Law."
I think he is smart because he knows that he should support the winning side
@Usernew I suggest you post on the main site. Sorry but you are unlikely to get proper answers here in chat.

@Usernew Yes. It means "so I wouldn't have had to have taken those dives" with "take a dive" meaning, in boxing, to pretend to get knocked out or lose in exchange for money

@EddieKal Yes that's the crux of why he is called smart. Not one thing about what he actually says.

I like how Shapiro has been such a staunch proponent of folk science, folk biology, and folk law
The only folky thing I haven't seen from him is folk dance

@EddieKal dog whistle.
Not too long ago Republicans were quite okay and even supportive of intellectual work.
Back then a Shapiro would have been a staunch proponent of NASA sending probes here and there, the US sticking it to the commies by imposing stricter lockdowns, the like.

Thanks to Trump and his followers, George W. Bush now looks like a liberal
Bush literally came out recently, criticizing the GOP
So did one of the Kochs last year

Q: "It makes (economic) sense", what are other adjective that can be used similarly?

MohammadI am used to hearing sentences like: -It doesn't make much sense. -It makes little sense. -It makes no sense. -It makes perfect sense. However, I find it makes economic sense really interesting since it expresses a concept rather than merely emphasizes sense. I used this collocation dictionary ...
