Seriously I don't know what to say

Q: Past perfect or Past continuous? "Last year, I spent a month in France. I had dreamt/was dreaming of going there since I was a child."

Mr.Ayman Last year, I spent a month in France. I had dreamt of going there since I was a child. Last year, I spent a month in France. I was dreaming of going there since I was a child. Which tense should I use?

Got two close votes for "Basic questions on spelling, meaning or pronunciation are off-topic as they should be answered using a dictionary. See: Policy for questions that are entirely answerable with a dictionary"
Really??
I thought it was likely to be closed when I edited it, but apparently not because it was an answerable-with-a-dictionary question.
It's like "Thank you so much for your time reviewing posts", but a little while later like "Whoa a little trigger-happy, aren't we?"

@EddieKal If I ever visited the CV queues again I would have to share the exasperation at people's CV choices so no thank you
They picked the context reason for a dictionary question and a dictionary reason for a contexually vague question.
Not to mention the ever present proofreading CV on questions where it would make zero sense

lol ... "Most of your answers felt researched and generic and didn't really give me a feel for who you are. Best of luck."
Darn ... When neither rehearsed/researched answers nor genuine answers can get you a job ...

@AIQ Maybe ask something on The Workplace?
If would probably work against you if you sound too robotic
That, or the guy just needed a reason to reject you and came up with a subtle put-down

@M.A.R. Thing is I didn't sound robotic. But I did research the questions and did prepare for them. My answers had the perfect word structure - what am I supposed to do make intentional mistakes - say "ummm" a thousand times to show that I am "in the moment" ...
It was a girl ...
Good thing is that she at least gave me feedback after I asked for it ...
What was I supposed to say? "I don't really care about your organization or about the job, I just need the money now. I will leave as soon as I get something better."

I think Workplace SE has questions about these situations specifically
What to and not to say

Thanks, I will look there ...
Sorry for dumping my depression here ...

It's okay bro
I'm certain this struggle is not unique ATM
