Q: A "bounty hunter" with low upvote answers, a hidden ranter?

KentaroThe attention came to me at first when I found a kind of a dubious question like this. The answer, who got the final bounty from the OP had repeatedly modified his answers and "resurrected" it once the question had gone off the screen. The other questions "he" got the bounty are such as this or t...

Q: broader acceptance of revisions from community

eplBackground Discussion has been limited regarding the acceptable extent and nature of editing of questions, by contributors other than the author, especially over any considerations that might be specific to ELL, as compared to SE generally. Presently, much of ELL is dominated by questions having...

@ColleenV You are an intelligent person, I am sure you have had many, many interesting moments in life. And you have learnt much from them. I am wondering if you ever considered putting them down in words (old-school diary writing or a manuscript) for your children (if and when you have them) to read them and learn from them.
At some point, you are likely to forget many of these great moments/lessons you have learnt, and so your kids may never get to know them or who you were and how you changed overtime. A manuscript or neatly composed virtual diary could be like ... damn I don't know what word to use there.

@AIQ Well but isn't peaceful protest all about sit-ins and blocking paths?

@EddieKal Sure. But blocking paths to a restaurant? Not letting customers in is not peaceful to me, they can easily stand on the other side of the entrance.
None of these look particularly peaceful to me, that video is just a part of it, it gets worse when protesters go inside.
MLK and his followers did something very similar in the Selma march
@AIQ It's strange coincidence that you bring this up as I was just looking through a box of memorabilia. I've never been a journal keeper. I very much live in the present and don't dwell much on the past. I think keeping a diary these days would be very risky.
This was a doll a childhood friend gave to me almost 40 years ago because it was the best thing she had ever made... I'm not completely unsentimental ;)
I'm just not that interested in personal history. The most important lessons I've learned can't be taught from a book.

@ColleenV I swear I could never tell this is hand-made.
It's really nice. The rubberbands are so old they've cracked, but it's held together well
She was very talented even at 12 years old :)

@AIQ Btw I wanted to clarify that I have a lot of issues with how the vegan movement and animal rights movement are shaping up. There's a laundry list of things I disagree with them on. But I try and understand where they are coming from and why they are worked up about meat consuming.

@EddieKal Yeah, the only part I agree with (I don't even know if it is their main agenda) is not to abuse animal for purposes of fashion-wear. Like we can do without crocodile leather wallets and belts. But if anyone stands in my way to consuming my food, which I have every right to consume, then I have a problem. They can protest all they want, but if they are going to stop me from entering a restaurant because they sell meat and I want to eat that meat, then I will take this personally.
@ColleenV True, but a journal (or e-journal) would do a good job in giving them a very solid understanding of the person you are/were. I feel like I have these thoughts like I have kids and suddenly I die, I don't have wealth to leave behind, but a few words might be good ...
> I very much live in the present and don't dwell much on the past.
@ColleenV I wish I could get out of my past ...

and making a terrible joke about rape
that isn't nice ...
some people will always do sth that's just too much and then that affects most people on that side of the debate

@AIQ People should instead practice on not judging a group by its extremes

Yes

We're so inclined to judge some group or another, we always ultimately end up at exactly one of the poles at a polarizing situation

How are your exams going? @M.A.R.
19:45
@AIQ Well, I feel like I have the potential to be a new person every day and that trying to write down who I currently am so that people can "know" the old "me"s is kind of a pointless thing to do. It will just burden me with stuff I've grown out of.

@AIQ Es geht
