@userr2684291 Nice explanation; thanks! I knew from the start that you had something to say about that whole matter, but I didn't prompt you as it is up to you whether to write an answer/comment or not. However, this would help many other learners in my opinion...
@userr2684291 I agree with the existence of a range of various possible reasons for users when it comes to downvoting, but still, it is annoying when they don't be neutral and fair about it.

Kazimierz Michał Władysław Wiktor Pułaski of Ślepowron (Polish pronunciation: [kaˈʑimʲɛʂ puˈwaskʲi] (listen); English: Casimir Pulaski; March 4 or March 6, 1745 – October 11, 1779) was a Polish nobleman,b soldier and military commander who has been called, together with his counterpart Michael Kovats de Fabriczy, "the father of the American cavalry". Born in Warsaw and following in his father's footsteps, he became interested in politics at an early age and soon became involved in the military and the revolutionary affairs in Poland (the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth). Pulaski was one of the...

> When opening the packaging, hold the pipette vertically and open the upper end.
I'm struggling with phrasing this naturally. The pipette is packed in an aseptic sleeve.
We need to position the pipette vertically and tear away the upper part of the sleeve. Slide the pipette into the pipette aide, and only then remove the rest of the sleeve by pulling the sleeve downwards.

Hi,is "take after" use in normal daily life conversations? Like: "She takes after her mother. " Is it formal or can it be used in normal conversations with people around like our friends.....

@It'saboutEnglish I think you can safely use it in conversation.

"If you do everything your child wants,you're spoiling him". Is the use of "spoiled " in this sense still common? Is it used these days?

1 hour later…

Yes. What's becoming less common nowadays is referring to a child or any person of an unknown gender by using masculine pronouns. If what you're saying is a general statement, you should probably use them or him or her instead of him. But him is fine, too, though by my lights a little old-fashioned. If you know their child is a boy, then that sentence is fine.

@CowperKettle That description actually sounds pretty good.

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Hm...
Now that's a shame.
@It'saboutEnglish I replied to you above.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Look.
(I just realized your eyes are everywhere; you're always looking. @_@)
Lol.
19:13
I am omniviscient
That's a word
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ My English–Slovene pocket dictionary doesn't have it, so I'll politely disagree.
Yyyyes it does . . . sneaking in and writing it hastily with crayon
It's between Zebra and Zipper
Now why would the writers put it there, I dunno
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ By the way, that's what Xi said. Lol.
I'm just gonna be obtuse and assume you meant Xi Jinping
Don't visit China in the near future
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I did...
19:21
Huh, to Google
Oh right.
Haha. I meant just... y'know the whole cameras thing.
Like he sees everything + the nice pun.
(Xi is pronounced something like she.)
Your avatar is this bright hybrid of blue and turquoise that reminds me of a pair of shorts BTW
@userr2684291 Yeah I know, hence why I was being obtuse and right at the same time
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ And hence why due to that reason as a result of that being the case on those grounds I was being straight and acute simultaneously.
(Obtuse and right are names for angles.)
20:03
Don't explain the puns, ugh
Obviously not a dad yet
The only permissible action after making a pun is an awkward get-it reaction

Haha.
There's some dust in my room again, but it's too late for me to clean it.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I guess I'll have to suck it up.
