@ColleenV I am sorry to hear you are resigning from your position. I know very little about the situation but enough to understand your decision. But what if Snailcar, Em, J.R. and MaulikV decides to do the same?

I’m not leaving, just so you know.

I may not be ELL’s best moderator, but I’m planning on sticking around to do what I can.

Good to know that @Snailcar, I was just trying to paint a doomsday picture to try and convince ColleenV to stay...
@snailcar That’s excessively humble :) Every mod on the ELL team is excellent in different ways.
@AIQ I’ve been tortured enough! I’m probably going to continue to haunt ELL off and on
But I don’t want to have any obligations to SE
I believe SE will start setting up elections to replace missing moderators in January

Wow, forty mice scientists

Do any of you have any experience in getting a SE site that just became a full site (no longer beta) to full graduation?
as in getting the site a theme and all that

@AIQ It's always been something that happens when SE has the resources to do it. I don't think the community can really make it happen. You can always post on the per-site meta and ask SE for a design, though.

@snailcar Yes, you are right. I was just reading about this in Meta. 10 QPD - super, super easy for some sites, but super hard for some others. It doesn't seem like full graduation is of concern to the community right now. The upcoming election for moderators is priority.

@AIQ This might be interesting to you, although not directly related... it could be a good jumping off point for more information:

Q: Congratulations to our 29 oldest beta sites - They're now no longer beta!

CatijaIf you're a user on a long-toiling beta site that's been waiting 7-8 years to get out of beta, this may be the post you've been waiting for. The 29 Beta sites that are 7+ years old no longer have the "Beta" label! I'm on record as saying that we need to ditch the "beta" label for our older site...

@ColleenV Yes, yes, yes, I was actually looking at that, the comments in Jason's and others' questions are very informative - but it really comes down to the fact that the only real change was the removal of the "beta" title. Thanks!

Yeah, they used to have a lot of different things bundled together which they called "graduation". These days, I think the "graduation" label might be less appropriate.
Anonymous
Removing the "beta" label makes sense, since the sites are nothing like the original idea behind SE beta sites.
Anonymous
Years ago, some of us thought our sites would be in beta literally forever – no design, no change in reputation requirements, no elections, nothing. The heat death of the universe would come around and we'd still be sitting there on meta wondering when we'd get a palette swap.
Anonymous
But then SE turned that around and gave us designs and elections and stuff. It was nice.
Anonymous
Of course, then they decided having actual full designs for each site was a mistake, so now they have the same design everywhere with only small per-site changes. That's sad because a lot of the designs suffered a lot for it, but it also means making new designs is a much lower cost proposition for SE these days, since there isn't actually much to design.
Anonymous
So that's kind of a bummer, but it means someone at SE might be able to make a design for your site (which site?) relatively quickly when they decide they have time.

I did not even know what SE was like until a little more than a year ago. I wish I was here 5 years ago.
My English would be much better if I knew.
I personally like the design of ELL more than ELU

EL&U had a magnificent design, but the re-design didn't treat it well.
Anonymous
I feel like ELL's design worked out a lot better with the re-design.

The scope of the site is impressively broad - one could imagine that with so many different arts (styles, techniques, etc.), there would be plenty of questions. But there isn't.
