Back in July, we appointed Moderators Pro Tempore for the nascent Stack Exchange 2.0 communities. Leadership is critical to any community’s success, and the bootstrapping of a community often requires those leaders to be appointed before the community is large enough or organized enough to elect them itself.

it seems clear that we will not go through the primary phase
anyway, I don't think we will have just 2 moderators.....
in case that on the last day of nominations there are still only 2 nominations, I assume some people will step forward
we cannot miss the opportunity of having 3 active moderators
I could nominate myself in that case, but I would prefer more reputable candidates...there are plenty on this site :)
