I've started a userscript that'll do the second half of this and link citations in pages.
A brief summary of the readme: currently only working on Australian Commonwealth Courts, eventually I'll get it working on all Australian Courts and Cases, and then I'll start looking at other jurisdictions. Any help is appreciated, because I realise this isn't useful for the majority of people in its current form.
One of the upsides is that this should work on any site, not just law.se, but I plan on optimising for law.se (eg it might only link tagged jurisdictions, or something).

Coolcool. Umm, it will work on any site so it should be fine. I will need to do testing on actual judgement databases because nested anchor tags are
generally bad and I can't recall what their behaviour is.
