@YannisRizos This could be used to share thoughts as and when they happen. If you are interested, you may share your email since I believe this document would be there for some real good time.
@Ubermensch I don't know if Google Docs would be practical for all of us. I think we can use the blog for the same think, we can start writing a post there, and everyone can join in and edit / review. Pre-publish, of course. /cc: @Jarrod
Got to go now, post any proposals you have for the blog here, so everyone can see them and chime in. Since we are still figuring things out, make sure you ping @Jarrod for every proposal so he can be notified...
2)Sharing ideas. When a person sits down to write, he would have a lot of ideas. Others would also have ideas, a few of which may (in fact it would) confront with the writer's views and I believe writers have the final say (would discuss this opinion in detail later). So I believe a wordpress article would be the private space and a google docs page a public space to brainstorm ideas
3)Better collaboration. Deducing from 2, this enables better collaboration in case of inter and intra-disciplinary articles
@YannisRizos I have sent the link to document outline for "How to tell a co-worker about bad code?" to those who have voted and that includes our Jarrod
@YannisRizos And Google docs is not a proposal. Its just the a working style adopted by me and I am going to write in word press to place it under review. Google docs is just a brain-storming whiteboard so that others could contribute to my idea and I can contribute to others ideas. Too early to suggest this as a feature
@YannisRizos And my doubts are regarding Wordpress plug-ins that's answered by Rebecca. Nothing with the blog really
@Ubermensch Make it a proposal then :) We can all benefit from each other's working style.
We are doing all of this collectively, please share everything that works for you, it might work for all of us. I noticed you shared the gdoc link on Trello, but people who are not part of the team right now can't see it, whilst everyone has access to this chat room.
@YannisRizos I think its too early to make a proposal. And I believe almost all writers put a high value on their writing and privacy of thought. Despite our best efforts, placing this proposal may shun individual writers. If you are interested, we may have a war of reasoning on this topic :D
@Ubermensch You've actually already made the proposal, by presenting the reasons you chose gdocs. Everyone can decide whether to adopt your approach, or dismiss it. Making a proposal doesn't imply that we will force anyone to adopt it.
@Ubermensch So: Next time you have an idea of how we could be a bit more efficient with the blog, feel free to post it here, that's exactly what this chat room is for. Doing the same thing on Trello has a very significant disadvantage, not everyone has access to Trello.
@YannisRizos Right. And that's the reason I pinged only those who voted for the subject. Putting this as a separate proposal wouldn't be nice and I believe sharing ideas during work is the best way to garner support. Hope I am right
