I find the price difference between mountain huts in Europe and USA interesting. The Granite Park Chalet mountain hut in Glacier National Park is $115 + tax. In German mountain huts, members pay €20/night. In Italy I (not a member) paid around €45 half-pension.

Supply and demand, I suppose.

it's not due to the national park though, even along the Appalachian Trail it's between $115 and $170 per night nytimes.com/2019/05/08/travel/… (although that does include breakfast and dinner)
