@ab2 Thanks for letting me know, and for your input on the question! Hope you're well.
@RoryAlsop Since @CharlieBrumbaugh is going to be changing the meta post about shopping questions, would it make sense to take it off the featured list? I just wonder if people might start answering without noticing his announcement, even though it's in big letters! @CharlieBrumbaugh, would that be okay with you?
room topic changed to The Base Camp: Ducklings, Ducklings Everywhere! [bear-selfies] [lava-and-marshmellows] [mosquitos-in-software] [raccoon-climbers]
@Sue Feeds here would be super irritating. I like how this chat room is so non-business like most of the times. Feeds would clutter things. And to answer your question, my sequence is - TGO, Base Camp, TGO Meta.
And most metas do not interest me. When I do like a meta, I post an answer.
@Charlie Brumbaugh It does look real, but we'd need to have the number of downvotes to be certain it was not just statistical fluctuation. Also would be nice to have best straight line with deviation on slope.
@StrongBad I was, but sadly one died. Productivity.SE wasn't ... Productive ... enough.
So it's only 6
On my home PC I keep around 80 SE tabs open at all times. On my phone only the 6 sites I mod plus chat
@Sue trained as a classical and Strathspey and reel violinist. Changed to guitar as a teen. 30 years later I'm getting back into violin.
I play a bit of piano, sax and other stuff, but not very well
@Sue there are definitely some standard groupings. "Soft" sites have one set of challenges, small sites have others, large sites have others...
@Sue difficult question. I enjoy them all, otherwise I wouldn't do it. Security is probably the easiest, as it is well established with a large community, and it's the industry I work in. Music and Outdoors are maybe next. Parenting is very hard work. Sound and video are tiny
When I joined here there was a question feed from the TGO site, was annoying. I do not often go to Meta sites, would not appreciate a feed from it (although with the smaller number of questions it is likely to be less often active.)
@Charlie Brumbaugh The numbers are small, and I think, except for the low numbers in Dec and Jan, any variation can be explained by the statistics of small numbers. That is, the statistical error is the square root of the number. (16 votes is 16 plus or minus 4 votes to one standard deviation; 16 plus or minus 8 votes to two SDs.) Someone would have to do the analysis on the data to be sure whether any apparent effect is real or not.
@CharlieBrumbaugh depends on various things. Sometimes you just don't take any devices with content on, just use burner devices you don't bring back. Sometimes you take nothing.
My risk model will be different to yours. In fact mine is very different to how it was 6 years ago
