@Charlie Brumbaugh Just let's not use 45's arms, fingers, attention span, and mass as units.

Nice discovery: climbing chalk is great to stop seam-sealed surfaces from sticking to other such surfaces :)

@anderas What's does "seam-sealed" mean?

Q: Circular velocity in axisymmetrici potential

user1991If a matter distribution is spherically symmetric, the circular velocity is straightforwardly related to the mass via: $v_{circ} = \sqrt{GM/r}$ In an axisymmetric potential, on the other hand hand, we have $v_{circ}(R) = \sqrt{R\frac{d\Phi}{dR}}\neq \sqrt{GM/r}$ with $\Phi$ the gravitational ...

@Liam you know your waterproof jacket. Where the edges are sewn, they also need to be sealed so water doesn't leak in the stitching - so a rubberised sealant is used
to seal the seams
also "morning"
hahahahahaha

@RoryAlsop ah cool, thanks

@Liam correct. In my case, a light jacket started leaking at the seams, so I sealed them again with that kind of glue (in addition to fixing two teared spots)
And that rubbery glue stays sticky, so if you push two glued surfaces together, they will stick together even after a few days
