Only in contrived or extreme examples does wearing less clothing about your body make you warmer in fact when camping.
The areas where I might consider it warmer to not wear clothing inside a sleeping bag are:
insufficient ground insulation when sleeping on solid ice or where you have no other...
I don't think there's anything wrong with such a question. Although I'm not sure why anyone would suggest that sleeping without clothes would be any warmer than with (dry ones at least).
@Kevin like all good rumors, there's a thread of truth combined with the hint of being naked and or getting someone in mixed company to undress. It's certainly something the less well-informed would consider as valid advice or at least worth googling before a first camping trip.

I am thinking about hiking the GR7 in Spain this fall, and I have quite a few questions I could throw out here (I think)... I'm pretty sure I read somewhere, maybe on our meta, that asking a question about Andalucia (where the GR7 runs), wouldn't be "too localized"?
