5:25 AM
@ChristianHummeluhr Just checked the times and sadly not only will I be at work but I will be in a meeting
Not nearly as much flexibility in my schedule now that I am no longer my own boss :-/

1 hour later…
6:27 AM
@JoshGitlin Ah, that's too bad. Hopefully I can set the time a little better for the next one.
I actually wanted to set it for 1600 originally, but I had a meeting myself then. :v

8 hours later…
2:07 PM
Dawww, so many idlers.

@ChristianHummeluhr ?

It's almost like a real channel :]
(Kidding, it's just nice to see people joining up.)

Hey look, people! Hi people!

Ah in the chat list ... :)

Hi Krysta :v
It's too bad we have such a representative distribution of time zones. Damn you, diversity!

2:15 PM
Good morning (/afternoon) @ChristianHummeluhr

6 hours later…
7:49 PM
@Krysta Just remembered I've been meaning to say thanks, I've getting so much mileage out of that Babbage quote you have in the right hand list.

Hah! Glad to hear it. It is the only truthful answer to confusion that's ever come to mind. Not that I say it out loud. . .

Well, not to people's faces, but I've been known to use it about an article or two. :v
It's very mad-lippable: I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such an [X].

Hah, true.

3 hours later…
10:50 PM
Oh man, did casey get banned again?

Seems so.

Hey Christian, I just wanted to say thanks for the great feedback you gave on a lot of my questions.
I'll get back to you on more stuff once exams pass.
But I really like your perspective on serial memory.

@Seanny123 yup
There is still a meta post lingering related to it.

@Seanny123 You're welcome, and thanks for asking a lot of solid questions. We tend to be heavy on answers and light on questions.

(which went through heavy cleanup, so is a better representation than all that actually took place)

10:58 PM
So @ChristianHummeluhr is your background mostly ACT-R stuff in terms of cognitive modelling?

No, my background is in methodology, but Niels Taatgen is with our AI faculty.

Oh man, @ChristianHummeluhr I had never heard about that guy, but he seems to be doing some investigation really similar to what my Master's thesis is going to be about!
Thanks!
On the down side, this does make it much harder for me to focus on my Embedded Systems exam that I have in two days...

Balancing learning and grades: the student's dilemma.
I suppose Niels' research isn't going anywhere, though. :v
That sociology question is weirdly popular. Who'd have thought?

Which one?
Also, before I go back to studying, a lot of the high-rep users seem to be groaning about the same things. We all take one look at some of the questions being asked here that fall in the gray area of kind of being sociology, but not really and we feel kind of sad. Eventually we leave. Has there been a productive meta discussion on what we can do about these questions?

11:29 PM
I feel like we have the same problem as Biology.SE
Have they dealt with the problem? If so, how?
