Q: Advice on how to write and research a good scientific answer

Jeromy AnglimI thought it would be good to have a meta question that we can direct people to in order to give advice about how to research an answer to a question. Such information would be relevant to: Users asking questions: If a user asks a question and doesn't get a good answer, it would be great if the...

I just added a response to the biology question: meta.cogsci.stackexchange.com/questions/119/…
at first I'd assumed that the person asking the question was actively involved with biology.se . But when I looked at his rep that wasn't the case at all.

I'm pushing for mathjax support so that we can have equations in questions and answers like on stats.se, math.se, economics.se and more: meta.cogsci.stackexchange.com/questions/48/…
if you like the idea, consider adding to my list of questions that could benefit from equation support

I was puzzled how our views per day could be so low given the Reddit traffic; it turns out that it's the median and not the mean: meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/111882/…

Q: Why does our high view count look inconsistent with our views per day statistic?

Jeromy AnglimBeing mindful of our site metrics, I was puzzled why our viewcount seemed so low given our total number of site views: For example, on 5th Feb we had 137 visitors per day and the site has been active for 17 days. If you take the incubation and leg-jiggling questions, we have around 3,200 views...

Well that was lovely. 4 hours and more train travel, and ending up where I came from. Train network in NL is a mess during winter.
Guess I'll have to work from home this week.

Q: The neuroscience and neurobiology tags

Artem KaznatcheevThe neuroscience tag was recently introduced in this question. We already have a neurobiology tag that is actively used. However, most of those questions could/hold be tagged neuroscience. In fact, the early questions I asked were only tagged as neurobiology because there was not a general neuros...

@StevenJeuris that sounds frustrating.

@JeromyAnglim It is, but I did manage to cross another one of the items of my train bingo from the list. :)
