@LukasLang @b3m2a1 @MichaelE2 and others:
Is there a way to set PlotRange to already created Graphics without having PlotRange->Dynamic[...] in the first place? The problem is that PlotRange->Dynamic[...] is buggy and updates on every possible non related event an I want to avoid this by setting PlotRange when I want.

@Kuba Do you have a specific example where it's causing unwanted updates? I have been using PlotRange->Dynamic[...] quite a bit, and have not noticed any major issues related directly to that

8:06 AM
@LukasLang It is not major but I see in the linksnooper that FE asks for the value way too often. It is something like:

DynamicModule[{data = <|...|>, x=1},
Graphics[
EventHandler[ Disk[], { "MouseEntered" :> x = 2}],
PlotRange -> Dynamic @ data @ "range"
]
]
But I could create MWE
could not*
Yes, I did use Dynamic PlotRange in the past
Regardless, I solved it with:
...
DynamicWrapper[
Graphics[... , PlotRange -> range],
range = data @ "range"
]...
Why does it help, idk.

@LukasLang That's so cool, nice work!!

fyi, V 13.1 is now available for download from user portal. SummaryOfNewFeaturesIn131

12:56 PM
@Nasser sigh... so it was shipped in this condition? Evaluate Plot[Sin[x], {x, 0, 2 Pi}], select result, Copy As > Bitmap, and paste back to the notebook. some tick markers are missing...

1:17 PM
Also, do others have local documentation for GraphData on 13.1? Information points me now only to the web version. Also, paclet:tutorial/ParallelKernelConfiguration is missing (under Help button in Preferences).

@kirma I have not yet started V 13.1, need to restart the PC first but waiting for something running to finish. as for the documentation issue you mention, did you make sure to download the version that includes local documentation with it? If so, it should not then send you to the web for docs in this case.

Yes, I've downloaded it and it was definitely installed too.
I sense that 13.1.0 has been released in a hurry, possibly before some sort of a summer deadline?

Does it happen often that people get downvoted on "ethical grounds"? I guess I'm been accused of facilitating "data tampering" because I explained how to use Select with the "Box-and-Whisker Plot" algorithm. Here
@JimB should we downvote people using MovingAverage too? How does it make sense to jump to conclusions about the potential ethical implications of removing outlier points?

@rhermans In one of your comments you seem to object to even mentioning ethical concerns. Am I wrong about that?

@JimB I'm stating what is on-topic and what is off-topic. I think that we should be focusing mainly on technical issues and assessments about Mathematica Programming. I do not reject Ethical concerns in an absolute way, but I do object to disproportionate jealousy when there is no evidence of wrongdoing.

4:21 PM
@JimB the fact remains you are downvoting questions and answers because you speculate that this may lead to unethical behaviour.

@rhermans You are correct about the rationale for downvoting. Is having a different opinion from you not allowed?

I also think the comments about ethics are completely out of scope, but to each their own. People are free to downvote I guess
I never realized you couldn't vote to close a question with a bounty :-)

@JimB It is allowed, your opinion as much as my opinion that you are wrong on what you are doing. But tolerance of dissent doesn't mean that all opinions are equally valid. You are been intolerant based on speculation and I think one can make the case that this is problematic.

@kirma Did you report this issue? Anyway I found that if you select the cell instead of the plot then it is copied as bitmap correctly.

@gdelfino I did report it over a week ago.
