Apple Store uses Wolfram Mathematica as one of only a few benchmark applications for Macbook Pro, that's a bit surprising to me. Almost makes me suspect that they've gleaned it from my browsing history or something.

@C.E. Indeed surprising. But I am presented the same benchmarks in the same order when I visit the site. And I would expect that my browsing history differs from yours...

@HenrikSchumacher you're right, they don't actually do it. But a lot of websites do it nowadays (if website A and website B use the same ad network, then website B may use your browsing history on site A) so when a coincidence that seems unlikely happens like this, one comes to think of that possibility. But it's not the case here, this really is a nice coincidence that they picked Mathematica over, say, MATLAB.

@halirutan Just noted that J.M. has been inactive since April 13th - no new entries on his blog also... Would you know anything by now (I found the last inquiry about J.M. in this room dating back a month ago)?

quick question: does anyone know of a way (documented or not) to get a file from an URI? Essentially, I need to get the Notebook from a link to a documentation page, such as "paclet:ref/List". Manually clicking on Hyperlink["paclet:ref/List"] opens the correct notebook, but that's of course not what I'm looking for...

5:33 PM
@LukasLang Documentation`HelpLookup["paclet:ref/List"]; will open up that page in the help window if that's what you mean
Warning to any mac users who use @halirutan's button bar on Safari: in MacOS 10.14 (Mojave) I get the message "Safari no longer supports unsafe extensions. “NinjaKit” is no longer supported."

@ChrisK
@ChrisK Thanks! Completely forgot about that function. I need to get the notebook programmatically (i.e. it shouldn't open in the front end), so Documentation`HelpLookup won't work for me. However, I found Documentation`ResolveLink while spelunking around in Documentation`HelpLookup, which does exactly what I need

@gwr I'm sorry, I haven't heard anything new and I'm aware how long it's been since we heard from him.

@ChrisK That's unfortunate. I guess I can spend a little bit of time to see if I get it working with Safari's extension builder, but I'm not web-dev and I don't want to be one and I get easily annoyed with all this stuff.
