@JohnFultz @b3m2a1 on Win10 V11.3 this code does not show the first step (x=1):
DynamicModule[{x},
 Panel[Column[{Slider[Dynamic[First@List@x]],
    Button["press", x = 1; Pause[2]; x = RandomReal[],
     Method -> "Queued"]}]]]
It worked in 11.2
And it already is an ugly fix (Dynamic[First@List@x]) the major, annoying, longstanding bug: mathematica.stackexchange.com/q/100828/5478
(@)others, can you reproduce the problem too? ^

I hope b in fun just set 1 , 2 or 3. and it have a default value 1
I cannot definite it like this?
fun[a_, b_: 1 /; (MemberQ[{1, 2, 3}, b])] := a + b

4:29 PM
@yode Perhaps fun[a_,Optional[b_?(MemberQ[{1,2,3},#]&),1]]:=a+b

@chuy Thanks very much.. You are right..

or fun2[a_, b_: 1] := a + b /; MemberQ[{1, 2, 3}, b]
or fun3[a_, Optional[b_ /; MemberQ[{1, 2, 3}, b], 1]] := a + b

Fun, It's seem the Optional must be write
but not instead of :
It cannot be fun[a_,b_?(MemberQ[{1,2,3},#]&):1]:=a+b
@chuy

4:48 PM
I suspect it comes down to being able to parse it.

@yode @chuy If I'm not completely mistaken, then the correct form yode wants is this:
fun[a_, b : _?(MemberQ[{1, 2, 3}, #] &) : 1] := a + b

Oh,god..
Thanks anyway..
I note Szabolcs use so many | in this answer

A: Which external services are compatible with GeoServer?

SzabolcsThe keywords to search for are "tile server" and "XYZ URL". I was able to find several services compatible with this format. There is a list, complete with previews here: https://leaflet-extras.github.io/leaflet-providers/preview/ (Found through GIS.SE) The {x}, {y} and {z} placeholders i...

it is funny how some people are. This person asked question "is-the-cdf-plugin-still-working" yesterday here. I commented to him it is not and gave him links. He immediately deleted the question and asked the same one at community :) I guess he wanted a different answer?

I will never understand some people. I hope I did not upset him by saying CDF plugins no longer work in browser.

For those familiar with jupyter/ipython: is there an equivalent of MatrixForm or TableForm for numpy arrays?
