I got a new apartment (I mean, they just finished building it), and the list of residents has a floor labeled as VIV. How common is that for 9? It does follow the logic of XIX being 19, but still...
@kirma Well, this may be a bug in your building! FromRomanNumeral["viv"] returns FromRomanNumeral::nrom: String viv does not represent a valid roman numeral. But that is only because of modern convention. Ancient use was more flexible.
I think IX, X and XI are not particularly easy to distinguish. Still I wonder if this is some sort of a mistake or an intentional choice. Using VIV is more creative than one would expect for a plain error...
