What is this?

Hi @JakeGould, I just wanted to mention that today was the second time in about a week that I had to roll back a bad edit you made to an Answer of mine.
Apple now calls its desktop/laptop OS "OS X". Not "Mac OS X" any more.

Which answers and why are you taking this so personally?

I'm not taking it personally. I just like the site to run well and not have people messing up Answers with their edits.

Look, I really cannot take petty bullshit like this. And think that the chatrooms on Stack Exchange are fairly useless and stupid. So if your goal is to piss someone off, mission accomplished.

Also, if you're going to curlify quotes, make sure you make them go the right way. And don't add grammatically incorrect periods.

“I just like the site to run well and not have people messing up Answers with their edits.” And who are you to be talking to me like this? And how are simple edits “messing up” answers? Also, please don’t enter a discussion talking about “…today was the second time in about a week that I had to roll back a bad edit you made to an Answer of mine.” and then come at me…
…with the self-important “I am a benevolent dictator” crap like, “I just like the site to run well and not have people messing up Answers with their edits.”

Why are you taking this so personally?

Unless you provide links to the edits in question you are just a lecturing overbearing bully.

I'll provide links, just give me a moment.

Can you provide links? No other discussion.
I’m taking it personally because out of nowhere I am being pulled into a chatroom by some self-appointed jerk being lectured about the quality of my edits.
If ANYTHING, the occassional mistake I make is dwarfed by the tons of edits I provide that clean things up.
So provide links to the “second time in about a week” claim otherwise you are being a pain in the ass. You are not a moderator right?

Here is an edit that you made to one of my Answers that introduced 3 errors: superuser.com/revisions/893019/2

6:38 PM
What are the “three errors?” That I added code formatting and smart quotes that are in the right direction?
“Also, if you're going to curlify quotes, make sure you make them go the right way.” In the example you just provided the quotes are 100% in the right direction.
Spiff.
Come on, chief.

1. You incorrectly added "Mac" to "OS X".
2. One of your curly quotes goes in the wrong direction.
3. You added a spurious, ungrammatical period after "Solo".
Here was the other time: superuser.com/revisions/890868/2

And you rolled back all of the positive edits as well. This has nothing to do with “running the site well.”
There Spiff, now I fixed my edits to make the “site run well.” You are not a moderator, right?
So it must be an honor to claim you are complaining about the “running the site well” without any reward.
And that last edit was me changing OS X to Mac OS X.
Look, here… I need to to hear this… Seriously… Pendants like you make this site horrible. You claim I made a bad edit in the first example, but you rolled back the positive changes I made.
And the second “edit” is simply OS X to Mac OS X.
And you state, “I just like the site to run well and not have people messing up Answers with their edits.” This is not YOUR SITE and YOU are not even a MODERATOR. What you are is a jerk. And you wrap up your personal issues in my edits.
And honestly, looking at the edits in question, this is a petty issue at best that could be dealt with a rollback.
So you have other issues. Speak your peace now if you wish.
I’m listening.
And like I said, I think the chat rooms on the Stack Exchange sites are fairly useless and stupid. So prove me wrong by coming clean about why you are berating me like this.

Thanks Jake, I've communicated everything I wanted to. Have a nice day.

Spiff, you are fantastic. I have posted a comment on your answer so a larger group can be exposed to this fascinating conversation. superuser.com/questions/892565/mac-osx-system-log-analysis/…
