@shoover - as you may have realized, we are not big chatters. Your points are all well taken. Keep in mind, SE is a message board, Q&A, not a 'discussion' board. Often, these probing questions are not asked, and even when asked, not addressed very well. OP's question certainly opens a can of worms.

@JTP-ApologisetoMonica Despite my misleadingly low reputation scores, I've been around SE since 2008, so, yeah, I'm aware. That's why I posted my questions here in chat because I figured they didn't even make the grade as comments.

OP posted another comment saying they are 50 years old. This is not going to end well.

I don't know how one can be too disabled to work but not disabled enough for SSD. Especially when I know one person who is totally blind and another who is missing limbs and in a wheelchair and they've found ways to be productive. The first started a successful canine/equine bodywork (therapeutic massage) business, and the second is writing.
