math.stackexchange.com/a/3837384 LQ review stopped by an edit that merely added dollar signs. Still an irrelevant answer, and a poorly written one at that.

OK, so that question was mod-reopened so the mod could answer it. I really don't understand why people think it's valuable to keep here rather than on a site that specializes in it.

@rschwieb That seems a rather uncharitable reading of the situation. It seems to me a mod answered it so it was clear that there is an answer relevant to the interests of the community. (I may be wrong, of course.)

@AndrésE.Caicedo You say uncharitable, but appearances are what they are. It looks like a solid example of "I like this question" and yet nobody can offer a reason why it ought to exist here and not one or two more obvious places. Notice the answer involves no mathematics, although it does contain a few good links to other discussions in meta on MO that are useful. It's also heavily anecdotal.
Any competent UX person could (and probably already has) written a superior answer about principles of writing with color. Would the answer be different if on another site it was "color in writing in physics" or "color in writing in chemistry"? It's not clear why.
I won't be pursuing it any further than writing my objections, though. I don't really feel like things are off the rails with regarding keeping things on-topic. I just think this is a weird outlier that is suspicious in the attention it drew, and the baffling way support went for it.

@rschwieb To be fair, it was also mod-closed.
I disagree with the reopening, but this could be seen as inter-moderator feuding.
(Please don't read too much into it...)
