@SmokeDetector The answer Smokey highlights is probably worth deleting. This answer to the same question suffers from a similar problem.

Wrong answer. This user keeps repeating the error that mathematical definitions are not formal. It also states wrongly that "a recursive definition defines one structure in terms that mention that same structure", which is either false or extremely misleading.
 
@user21820 I cannot judge if that is correct or not (mathematical logic is not my area of expertise). But I wonder why you report that only here, and did not leave a comment at the question, so that the author has a chance to clarify or improve the answer.
