attaching cable stops to a steel frame is the only thing I can think of

Spot welder wouldn't be any good for that - a braze on fitting tends to need brazing.
Spot welding is only good for thin things like perhaps mudguards ?

@Michael For rebuilding e-bike batteries! The cells need to be spot-welded to the power rails. Doing this as a business is probably pretty lucrative

@Erlkoenig are you “allowed” to open them up and just replace the 18650 cells? Who’s taking the blame if they catch fire and somebody’s house burns down?

@Erlkoenig even ignoring the shitty soldering job, the wire they used looks awfully tiny...
Maybe it's intentional--the pack will desolder itself if it overheats :D
