@gschenk Respectfully, because your English is normally exemplary, I think you mean "bodge" (crude patch) rather than "botch" (messed up/done badly).

Yeah it would work, but the risk of bending the axle increases because of the additional leverage. I'd probably bend it by sitting on it :-0
yep fair point.
Hey also it looks like the spacers are only on one side ? That's going to mess with the centering of the rear wheel, maybe requiring a redish.

@DavidW thanks! I did not realise they are distinct words.
@Criggie that allows a symmetric wheel, that is, same spokes on both sides.

8:59 AM
Fair point. I would think that a wider axle would be better, even if it produces an asymmetric wheel. But a symmetrical wheel is easier to build.

there is definitely such a thing as a stupid answer :-\

@Criggie you have asymmetric load anyways.

@Criggie feel like you enjoyed that one ;)

Folks, I saw a suggested edit come up on an older post of mine. The suggestion was “Weiwen don’t edit other posts”. The comment with the edit was “arrogant prat”. I can’t see who suggested the edit. Thoughts on how to proceed?

@WeiwenNg I reviewed that and rejected the edit, no doubt someone will give it the second reject vote soon. The best thing you can do is ignore it, even though that person was rude to you. It was somebody whose question you had done an excellent job of editing
The best response is to not draw any attention to it, if the edit is rejected then it goes away. That's why users have to earn privileges, and we can filter out the crap
It's not worth your time or worry, if you let it get to you then that person succeeds in what they want, which is to upset you, they won't even be thinking about it now. If they do anything more, you can flag rude or abusive comments, for example
Actually, beyond ignoring, your constructive comment you already made is the best way to proceed, all I could suggest to do differently is to give the comment at the time you make an edit, perhaps if there was an explaining comment at the time then they wouldn't have got bent out of shape.

@WeiwenNg did you flag it for a mod? Such ad hominem requires sanctions as disincentive.

On a lighter note: Cargo-penny-farthing-house-boat
I wish I could spend my summer holiday with that thing. Latvia is also a lovely destination.
