Is it wrong that the comments here make me want to strangle someone bicycles.stackexchange.com/questions/43838/…?

Depends if I made any of them :)

Isn't the toxicity a valid concern?
I suppose that we shouldn't like to have that thing corroding in our yard.
I've no idea however how that stuff corrodes. Thought the only use for Beryllium would be tips of ICBMS and such.
oh, and neutron refelctors in the first hydrogen bomb.

well if its painted then that's protection right ?
:)

Don't scratch and lick it?
Poor Dmitri, for being concerned about Beryllium poisoning he risks getting choked by Deleted ;-)

9:41 PM
I've not heard of beryllium poisoning. I guess everything can be bad in some way

One of my profs with MBDA industry background said that milling the stuff was the dangerous part, since the dust is toxic. However, once finished and cleaned one could touch it. He strongly advised against any structural parts though.

you can die from drinking too much water.

Its too rare in metallic form
Prof advised against using it for any structural part. Since it is quite brittle it would require too large safety margins or too much though in designing it to gain any advantage from it. Ceramics, titanium, and aluminium would be nearly always better.

so scooter question. We have all these bird.co around town now
anyone have any recommendation how to towe something own one of these?

tow a bike?

lol not quite
more like groceries

Backpack would be your only option.
Anything dangling from the bars could throw you.

:( that was my guess

I guess you could put something on the deck but it might fall off, and decreases foot room.

11:02 PM
I thought maybe something that had 2 wheels that attached to your back
like a 2 wheeled lift type mechanism

Maybe hang a basket on the front, but its not yours so you can't go fitting things to rentals.

a basket I think would obscure steering

you mean a travois ?

essentially a travois with wheels
so yes
something preferably portable

hmmm - and do you ride this on the road or the footpath ?

11:04 PM
your chose
I do both

I'd suggest a big backpack. A tramping/hiking pack.

yeah that was my guess

But don't exceed the max weight for the scooter.

well that's out then
because myself and my backpack already reach 200 pounds
> 1.10 Weight and Cargo Limits. You must not exceed the maximum weight limit for the Vehicle (200 pounds).
> The sticker listed the scooter’s maximum speed at 15.5 miles per hour, and maximum load at 220 pounds.
so I might be able to carry 1-2 items maybe
the bird estimates were a little under the manufacturers recommendation
about the travois idea any recomendation if I wanted to investigate such?

I would think it dangerous and strongly recommend not.
A scooter is for a person and not a lot more
if you want to move cargo then a scooter is the wrong tool.
