There are several problems with this question. First, it is not a practical programming problem within the scope defined by the help center. A question like this might be on-topic for Software Engineering, were it not for the other problems. A second problem is that it is too broad: it contains multiple questions in one. A third problem is that "best practices" is extremely vague and open-ended, resulting in a poor question for any Stack Exchange Q&A site. A fourth problem is that it asks for software recommendations, which are off-topic for both Stack Overflow and Software Engineering. — Cody Gray ♦ just now

This is no longer a security issue, but it is still considered a best practice to always return a dict : softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/a/304638/369319cadoman 43 secs ago

@SwapnilRustagi Asking here in chat is OK, but that's very difficult to answer and also depends on the market you are in. Where I live, neither a bachelor's nor a master's degree are strictly necessary, but it makes it easier get the jobs I want.
You should also understand that there is very little work on greenfield projects, and that big-name companies are only a tiny slice of the job market – they aren't even well-paid jobs if you go there as a fresh grad.
The vast majority of software development work is probably fixing bugs in a 7 year old line of business application for some company that you didn't even think had a software development team. Or setting up yet another Wordpress site. But with a master's degree you might already be overqualified for that kind of work?

@amon Thank you for your reply. I am from India, but in one of the top institutes in India, and I already did an internship in a start-up. (I realize I should have mentioned this initially).
So, I intend to work in that tiny slice of the market that you talk about - and I would says they pay decently.
I know a Bachelor's degree is enough to work in the big-name tech companies, but I just wanted to know, do tech companies restrict which team or position you can work in, based on not having a Master's degree.
