i posted specific questions in the post to clarify exactly what information i'm looking for. i feel these questions rely more on general network/protocols debugging skills and experience setting-up testing environments than anything else, and since it touches on several topics, stack overflow seemed appropriate. is there a sister site you think the question would be better suited for? super user, software engineering, and server fault on stack exchange seem potentially appropriate, but i'm not sure this question would fall exactly in one of those silos. — init1312 1 min ago
