They guys next door donate ~£50 of beer to the hackspace (yay). I drop a couple of bottles, make a mess, try to hoover it up, and damage a £50 hoover (boo). Proof life is a 0 sum game?
Your question makes sense and it's a completely valid request for some help, but it seems to be more about design and not so much about coding. It may be a better fit on: Programmers. — Sean Mickey18 secs ago
@MetaFight I've never seen anyone try to vacuum pieces of broken glass (except very tiny shards or perhaps with a shop vac that can vacuum liquid). Sorry, but since you've told on yourself, I must know, how did you get the idea to do that?
@enderland I presumed as much. But I think there are better ways to have singletons.
Is the class itself intended to be a singleton? No other classes with the metatype? If so, the __instances name kinda misinforms...
Hey, does anyone know if there is a name for the pattern where you GOTO some piece of code to process, just to immediately "return" to the line after your goto (with another goto)? As in, it's completely equivalent to inlining the processing code and not using any gotos at all, but you're just cleaning stuff up visually.
