I vote that we have a new close reason just for questions like "What is the meaning of Programmer?": Blindingly Obvious
user2334
Hey @Knu, I pinged the UX mods to see if they will clear the migration and allow you to improve your question to better be on-topic there
user20683
Wrong room?
user2334
@WorldEngineer Terrible migration from SO. I hate those.

@mark thx for the support. I hope it will turn out well.
The "duplicate" of my question doesn't help me much at all ^^
user2334
No problem. Just to let you know how migrations work: once it gets migrated to a site, the destination site only has the ability to delete or close the question. It's up to the moderators on the originating site to determine if they want to re-open the question.

@MarkTrapp Is it considered good practice if you find an answer on your own to append that to the question but to accept someone else's good answer?
Knu
Knu
I know Iv seen you somewhere else.
@mark did I answer one of your question?
user2334
@WorldEngineer You should always leave your answer as an answer. If you think someone else has a better one, it's okay to accept that. Basically, answers and questions should be voted on separately
user2334
Who knows, people might think your answer is much better and it'll get the most votes anyway
user20683
kk
user2334
@Knu Hm, not sure: I'm pretty active on Meta Stack Overflow, Stack Overflow, Gaming, Programmers, Drupal, and SciFi. Any of those intersect with your sites?
user20683
23:08
Yeah or I get pounced on for not adequately googling
user2334
@WorldEngineer Well, we encourage asking and answering your own question: the only basic questions we really don't allow are the ones any programmer should know: "What's for (i = 0; i < 10; i++) {} called?" "What's a programmer?"
user20683
The first is called C programming day two
user2334
heh yeah
user20683
and the second is called "duh" aka someone who "____________"
user20683
the really funny part is when they use that for loop on a pointer

@mark nvm Ill find out eventually.
user20683
and 80% of the class blanks out
user20683
incidently I did find a crazy answer to my question about algorithms
user20683
it's a monster from hell though
user20683
This thing
user20683
23:15
I must have it but first I must have a real job so I might fund the getting of it
user2334
@WorldEngineer I gotta believe you can get it somewhere really cheap used
user2334
At that type of price, they're definitely expecting it to be bought and sold several times
user20683
I think I can get it on interlibrary loan
user20683
I also happen to own a lot of math books
user20683
got them at a dollar clearance thing
user20683
23:29
