Ultimately I reckon the question is broad enough to warrant closure, but considering the activity on the Q and its positive rep standing, I'd be hesitant to do so without more community support for the move.
If I could get a few more community members looking at this / at least another mod's opinion on this, that'd really help with the decision.
As author of the meta post in question I support closing the question to maintain quality, however I also would be interested in seeing what the rest of the community says about it.
I think such questions help to build the community a knowledge base in these first stages. Maybe after a while, these broad topics may be carried to the community wiki and then closed?
