@Air I had the feeling that we were getting busier than usual. That confirms it. Also, the charts in the "How are we doing" meta post show a nice and steady visit growth.

Q: How are we doing?

GlenH7This post is to help the community track how we're doing as we progress through our private beta into a public beta and hopefully into a full-fledged SE site. Statistics are provided by the Area51 proposal1. The intent is to provide an update once a week or so, and help the community identify w...

@Air Are these measures historical or rolling averages? Is "questions per day" calculated as "total questions" divided by "age of site" or is it something like "questions in the last 30 days" divided by 30?
I'm assuming its a rolling average, because for one week to raise the average so significantly would require a huge number of questions.
Well, I just did the math myself. The engineering.SE homepage states 1992 questions, which means an absolute "questions per day" of 1992/425 = 4.7, so the A51 stats are obviously rolling averages (which they should be).

@Wasabi I saw somewhere recently that the Q/day stat is over 10days (or maybe 2 weeks).

Q: How are the "questions per day" calculated?

TheCleanerReferring to here: http://stackexchange.com/sites#users Hovering over the questions/day I see per day on average over the last 2 weeks. But where/how is this actually calculated (formula, etc.)? I'm hoping for the details similar to how Kevin answered here: How is views/day calculated?

Q: Should we change the title of "Identify this" questions once the answer is known?

hazzeySometimes our site gets questions where the asker doesn't know what something is and provides a picture. As a site, we have come to the understanding that these types of questions are acceptable as long as the text of the question provides a description and detail. My question is related. Once t...
