@Moderators What are your thoughts on the popularization of the Constructive Feedback chatroom? I think it would be great if we can allow users to use the room to receive question specific feedback so that they can plan their edits before reopening questions, rather than have the same in the comments. Is it worth creating a meta post popularizing this chatroom?
So far the only way we've managed to popularize this chatroom is by mentioning it in fleeting meta comments. Over the past few days, we have received a couple of meta queries along the lines of "why was this question downvoted etc." which are unlikely to be entertained there, but should be ok in that chatroom. The only issue is that we cannot bring those of reputation <20 in that room, but otherwise I feel it can perhaps handle issues regarding the guidelines of context rewrites.
@LalitTolani Done. Please raise a moderator flag on the main site if you change your mind (I won't see it if it's on Math.SE, but a math mod can handle it in that case)
@XanderHenderson Can I have an opinion around the question I asked here? Otherwise, please let me know when you can provide an opinion (or if there is any opinion at all : a "meh" would not be a problem).
@SarveshRavichandranIyer I don't have strong opinions, really. In general, I wish that people would use chat more, but the XP threshold makes it inaccessible for the people who need it most.
AND the people who need chat most are also the people who are least engaged with (or even aware of) the meta side of the site.
If getting more people to use Constructive Feedback is something which interests you, great. Feel free to try to increase traffic there. However, that is not a windmill that I have the time or energy to tilt at, as I don't think that there is much chance of succeeding.
@XanderHenderson Thanks a lot for the response. I will be optimistic and go ahead with it : I may need some time to prepare a meta post but when I do, I'll try to make a case for it.
