Nonetheless, I would still appreciate some sort of feedback about how appropriate it is flag in situations like what I describe.

@MartinR To the best of my knowledge, there is no way for a bounty's text to be modified.

I haven't looked hard to find such a method, but I don't think it exists. I suppose that I could refund the bounty and let you try again, but this seems less than ideal...

@XanderHenderson FYI, please check How can I modify a bounty notice (e.g., fix a typo)? which also states you can't change the bounty text, but there is a pending feature request to allow this.
