Hello,
I noticed a MathJax button to the right of the input box in a chatroom I started with another user, but which doesn't appear in public rooms. What is it?

@Arrow If you mean Room for Arrow and Hanno, I tried to join it and I do not see any such button.
BTW that room is public.

Perhaps you could add a screenshot to show what you mean by "MathJax button".

I see your parent user is MathOverflow account - I am not sure whether that can cause some difference.

That's strange.. I have that button on every MO room except Homotopy Theory

What does that button do? You do not see that button in other MathOverflow rooms?
I have created a room here: Room for Martin Sleziak and Arrow
This one is associated with math.SE and not with MO. I wonder whether it will behave in the same way for you.
Ok, so it does not change things if the room is not associated with.
I do not really know, perhaps somebody else will be able to find out.
